Our regular Microconic™ collets will also help reduce cycle time by allowing a firm grip on the workpiece without causing damage, and yet holding it much more rigidly than any other collet on the market. You will be able to do heavy machining operations in the sub spindle, such as blind hole broaching, that would not have even considered in the past.
The Microconic™ system will be able to do things that are impossible with standard/extended nose collets.
Faster Set Ups & Repeatability Set ups are quicker and more repeatable with Microconic. You can document the micrometer-adjust collet closure in your set up plan using our Micrograd™ Face Dial Wrench and it's going to repeat to the same clamping pressure each and every time, regardless of operator skill and without relying on "feel". You can calibrate your spindle accuracy with the Microconic™ cartridge by using it as a precision cylinder gauge. When that is good, EVERY Microconic collet will run within .0002" TIR: There's no fiddling and swapping collet after collet looking for a "good" one. Set ups go smoothly and predictably. |
Microconic Regular Collets - UM5
Available in our UM5 series collets. Holds parts from 0.2mm to 5.5mm/ (0.008"- 0.217")
Semi-hard collets are designed to be machined in place by the customer to accommodate special sizes, shapes, steps, etc. 0.0001" to .00015" (3 microns) concentricity, guaranteed to be within 0.0002" (5 microns) in production use. The collet clamping range of each collet is 0.002" (0,05mm). |
Microconic Regular Collets - UM10
Available in our UM10 series collets. Holds parts from 0,22mm - 10,00mm. (0.0086" - 0.3949")
Semi-hard collets are designed to be machined in place by the customer to accommodate special sizes, shapes, steps, etc. 0.0001" to .00015" (3 microns) concentricity, guaranteed to be within 0.0002" (5 microns) in production use. Microconic T-Type Over-Grip Collets
Available in both UM5 and UM10 series.
Our Microconic™ "T-type" over-grip collet has a longer gripping surface than our W-type and is designed specifically for workpieces like long bonescrews with wide pitch threads, where there is a need for a longer grip land. These T-type over-grip collets can open up to 4mm larger than the gripping size, and hold with extreme concentricity and rigidity. Typically within 5 microns concentricity (.0002") if the machine itself is in perfect condition. The overgrip collets are also shown on the attached list and available for shipment within 2 days.
